Program Overview
The Lasell University Surgical Technology Program is a 16 month, 62 credit, associate’s degree program. The program consists of 4 back-to-back semesters of classes with clinical components added in the last two semesters. Students are awarded an associate’s degree in Science and upon successful completion of the program they are prepared to sit for the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) examination to become a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Lasell University has a strong commitment to student-centered learning as demonstrated by its Connected Learning Philosophy.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Lasell University Surgical Technology Program is to prepare entry-level Surgical Technologists who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession while providing a student-centered learning environment that fosters the academic, professional, and personal growth of students. The program is built upon three core values: Academic Integrity, Social Responsibility, and Clinical Excellence.
